New school is good, yes yes. I enjoy the middle-school-ness of the students. They're right in bizarro-land. My new sponser teacher and I jammed out to R.E.M. today. I gave a demonstration of the mandolin to four classes and warmed up the chorus. Tomorrow will be more of the same, and then I'm going to teach some guitar classes on Friday. Then, either Monday or Tuesday of next week, I will add recorder class to my workload. The chorus will be coming a little later. That'll be a different challenge. I like this place.

Oh boy, here I am. Lazylonely Sunday. Back in Syracuse. It's been raining. I got groceries. School starts tomorrow. New school: Central Square. Excited, but I'd rather be elsewhere doing other things, in the company of good friends. There's been fun scale discussion at the nonoctave.com forum. I've been studying "moment of symmetry scales," in which one interval is used as a generator and there are exactly two step sizes. That excites me most. Love to friends I miss. To a comfortable xenharmonic education future.

• I am on break.
• I shall be visiting Potsdam in a few days.
• I have completed my first student teaching placement at H. W. Smith Elementary School.
• I am working on standards projects.
• I shall soon begin my new student teaching placement at Central Square Middle School.
It's nice to be home and to get a break. Yes, I'm doing standards projects, because I need to catch up on them and I need to take this time to do that. I'm ok with that. I slept well last night. I dreamed about a movie that combined Star Trek:TNG and the X-files. The protagonist was sometimes Picard, sometimes Mulder, and sometimes me. Floyd the minihorse was in my dream. He's a horse I know in real life from the zoo I volunteered at over the summer. The protagonist, whoever it was at the time, would ride Floyd around during the course of his adventures. Floyd made a good companion in my dream.
